4710 EVM 720p 120Hz with NV GTX1050 HDMI out.

Part Number: 4710 EVM

Hello,

I tried to drive the 4710EVM modul in the HDMI input with a 1280x720 120Hz signal, but the left part of the image is blinking. ( at 60Hz is OK)

The output source is Nvidia GTX1050 VGA card HDMI port. In the Windows7 "Monitor setting" is showing this resolution/refreshrate as possible setting.

Do you have any experience or setting suggestion to be able to use this 720p/120Hz ?

Best Regards

Tibor

  • Hello Tibor,

We do not have 120Hz framerate support on the default EVM firmware so I'm actually surprised you are getting any image at all. Could you describe your usecase for this resolution and framerate?

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Dear Kyle,

Thank you for your fast reply. You are right, the stock FW is capable for 60 HZ. I saw some where in the forum, that this chipset can work on 120 Hz with the lower 1280x720 resolution.

The usecase : capturing image of the DLP projectore image with industrial MachineVision camera. I know this EVM not the ideal for this kind of application, but we have this one, so we try to get as much out of it.

With higher framerate we can use shorter shutterspeep on camera and we will less influence of the external light disturbance.

Do you have or know somebody who have 120 HZ custom firmware for 4710EVM ?

    Thank,

    Tibor

  • Hi Tibor,

I was able to confirm we can provide this firmware image. Please accept my friend request for more information on how I will send it to you.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Hello Tibor,

Please accept my friend request for more information in how to get the firmware. In the future I would suggest taking a look at the DLPC3479 controller which will provide other advanced light control features as well.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Dear Kyle,

Thank you for your help, the 4710 working fine at 120Hz. :)
