Which DLP has the smallest tilt angle variations of the individual mirrors?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP7000, DLP9500, DLP9000X

We are developing an application that is sensitive to tilt angle variations of the individual mirrors of a DLP device. Both the fixed differences between the individual mirrors in the “on” state, as the variations in tilt angle between different binary patterns are relevant for our application. Therefore we would like to select the DLP device that performs best on these two aspects.

Although all spec sheets we have seen specify tilt angle variations up to +/- 1 degree, we can imagine that some models perform better than other, for example depending on de size of the mirrors.

Currently we are considering the following devices:

DLP7000

DLP9500

DLP9000x

Which model would you advise to us? If another DLP model potentially performs better on tilt angle variations we would, of coarse, like to know it.

  • Hello Erwin,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E forums.

We understand your motivation for inquiring about tilt angle variation from DMD model to model. The parts are all manufactured with similar processes and result in similar variations across models. We are unable to guarantee any numbers other than what is already in the data sheets.
