DLP2010EVM-LC: expert help on DLP 2010

Part Number: DLP2010EVM-LC

Hello,

We developed an application based on DLP 3000 that is no longer in production. We are planning to try DLP 2010 (or 2000) for our application. In the past, we were assigned a particular support person (like Divya Reddy) who would hold our hand on many issues. It worked really well. She is no longer doing such support. We need another really good and dedicated person on DLP 2010/2000 to get initial support to help us to a good start. Who can we get this support from? We need an email address and a phone number, please?

Thank you,

Cem

  • Hello Cem,

I will see if we have someone on our team who is able to reach out to you. If we do is it okay if they contact you with your email on file?

In the meantime do you have any specific questions? In general we hope to provide the needed assistance via E2E.
    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Hello Kyle,

That would be really great. There are issues with manuals, info files, mismatches between documents and control programs etc.etc. to do with LC2010 and its variants. And we want to understand LC2000 use as well. We currently have one LC2010 EVM fro testing.

Human contact would be really essential. You can use girit@biopticon.com for the contact information.

We need the CAD files for the LC2010 EVM unit for enclosure design. Where can we get them?

Thank you again for your prompt response.

    Sincerely,

    Cem
  • Hello Kyle,

    Here is one more question.

The document "DLP2010 Light Control EVM User’s Guide" (dlpu069b.pdf) links to a Digikey PS to use with the unit. This is for the 19V version of DLP 2010 EVM. But we purchased a 5V version of 2010 which its manual (DLP® LightCrafter™ display 2010 EVM user’s guide, dlpu027d) does not recommend a 5V PS for this unit . What do you recommend as teh PS for this unit?

    Cem
  • Hi Cem,

The CAD files for the DLP2010EVM-LC are available under the Design Files section of the Reference Design page here: TIDA-080001.

    Azad
  • Cem,

The DLP2010EVM-LC requires a 19V power supply as mentioned in the User's Guide while the DLPDLCR2010EVM uses a 5V supply. For the latter, you can use any PS with a nominal 5V 3A supply, we don't have a specific recommendation. Please note that the power connector on both EVMs have an inner diameter of 2.5 mm and outer diameter of 5.5 mm.

  • What is the polarity of the center pin?
  • Cem,

As can be seen from the schematics, pin 1 is the power line labelled SYSPWR. Can you clarify whether you're working with the DLPDLCR2010EVM or the DLP2010EVM-LC?

    Regards
    Azad
  • Hello Azad,

It is DLPDLCR2010EVM. We asked to communicate with a DLP expert in order to resolve selection of proper alternative and help on initial issues. For example we are finding out that DLPDLCR2010EVM is not suitable for the 3D Structured Light applications like ours. It seems that the DLP2010EVM-LC is a better solution. Since we do not need luminosity more than 20lumen, then can we use a power source with 5V instead of 19V? Please introduce us people who can help on many similar questions on such products.

    Cem
  • Hi Cem,

The DLP2010EVM-LC cannot work with a 5 V input as the input voltage regulator used on the EVM requires 19V input. However, if you're designing your own board, you can use 5V as input, similar to the DLPDLCR2010EVM.

You're right that the DLPDLCR2010EVM is not intended for 3D Structured Light applications.

We will send a mail to the email address provided above for further queries.

    Regards
    Azad
