Hello,

I've had a lot of difficulty gettting the EVM module to work with my raspberry pi 3B+. Does anyone know of any debugging protocols in place? I've updated the software for /boot/config.txt and /etc/local.rc to match the tutorial, but for some reason I can't seem to get past the splash screen. I've tried rewiring to no avail. I've also noticed that if I rewire incorrectly for the software I2C wires, I get a 'wiring failed' response in the terminal, so I'm confident it is wired correctly. Let me know! Hoping to get this projector working soon.

Hello Misha,

Could you please confirm if you are trying this with a Raspberry Pi or a Beaglebone Black? The quick start tutorial is intended for the Beagle Bone Black.

I am using the Raspberry Pi 3B+ With the following tutorials:

i've wired it according to how the referenced, and rewired as well. Does the version of Raspbian matter? The version in these tutorials is different from the one I use (I have an updated 2019 version).

If you are just starting out, I highly recommend you begin by first trying to wire up the I2C connection between the EVM and your Raspberry Pi. Once you get I2C set up, you can then issue commands to the EVM to cycle through splash screens and test patterns, confirming that your EVM's firmware is working fine.

TI does not have debug code or files provided for the Raspberry Pi, so you will need to use resources provided by the community. Theoretically, your version of Raspbian should not matter assuming you can configure your GPIOs properly.
