DLP3010EVM-LC: Firmware Release Notes and Trigger-In/Out

Part Number: DLP3010EVM-LC

Hello,

are there any release notes for the new DLP3010EVM-LC firmware (7.3.1)? What has changed?

Can I trigger the projector (trigger in) with any electrical 3.3V signal or does it have to be a signal sent from the camera? Additionally, can the projector send a trigger out signal to any device different from the camera?

Furthermore: Tests with a simple 3.3V signal (as trigger in) resulted into a distorted pattern. Is the current/voltage too high? Projecting the internal patterns without the triggerIn works as expected.

Also nearly to no signal could be recognized from the dlp3010evm-lc as trigger out in the analog input module of our machine.

Last but not least:

- TriggerIn allows to step through / to display each single pattern in a pattern set

- With trigger out 2, every time a new pattern is going to be displayed, I receive a signal from this output

is this correct?

Thank you in advance

Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

The release notes are included in the installer package. Minor patches and updates were added as part of this release.

The triggers can be used with any device, not necessarily a camera. Please ensure that you have set up the jumper configuration of the EVM as specified in the EVM User Guide.

In trigger-in mode patterns can be distorted if the trigger is not sensed correctly by the EVM. I'd suggest using a microcontroller kit (like the MSP430 Launchpad) to verify that trigger in works as expected.

Please use an oscilloscope or logic analyzer to verify trigger outputs in case these are not detected.

    To clarify,

    - Trigger In steps through each single pattern across all pattern sets defined in the pattern order table.
    - Trigger Out 2 will be active whenever any pattern is projected.

    Regards
    Azad
