Issue with DLP® LightCrafter™ Evaluation Module 8-bit pattern count

Hi all,

I am using a DLP® LightCrafter™ Evaluation Module with GUI "DLP LightCrafter Control Sofrware - 5.0.0"

The first question I have is actually about the version of this module. When I looked at this post "Not sure which EVM you have? Read this:" (see the image below) I found none of these match my device. Maybe it is too old?

The second question is that when I used the software to upload internal 8-bit monochrome patterns, it does not allow me to enter the pattern count manually. Instead, I had to choose the pattern count from a dropdown menu which has max value of only 12. However, from the user manual it said that I could use "Extended Pattern Sequences" which should allow about 125 patterns. How can I change the pattern count to larger than 12?

Is there a newer version of the GUI? If yes where can I download it?

My last question is that I saw that there is a different GUI tool "DLP® Display and Light Control EVM GUI Tool" (see below), is it compatible with my module?

Hello Ruisheng,

Welcome to the DLP® section of the TI-E2E forums.

The first order of business is to identify which EVM you actually have. Is there any possibility that you could post some pictures of the kit. Make sure to cover the serial number if it shows up in the photos.

Hopefully we can identify the particular EVM from the pictures, which will help with pointing to the right GUI software.

Hello Ruisheng,

This is an older EVM that is no longer made. Keynote Photonics has a pro version:

LC3000-PRO DLP Pico Projector with UV LED DLP Pico Projector

There is no software / GUI other than what is on the web annd of course you have the guide for EVM already.

The DLP3000 DMD currently has a status of "Lifebuy"

Please see page 35 of the guide to understand how the pattern count interacts with the bit depth. For 8-bit, 12 is the max number of patterns (for 1-bit it is 96).
