DLP6500FLQ mounti to optics

Hello!

I bought a Dli6500A module with FLQ DMD and Vialux STAR 065 type A optics separately and have a question about assembly. The DLi6500 came with assembled DMD and with DMD mechanical interface. (part 1 in Mechanical-Reference-Assembly-Type-A-DMD-_2D00_-2503737b.pdf) The way I see it I have to remove that interface and screw the board with DMD to the STAR optics. Besides torquing the screws the right amount of lbs while not bending the DMD is there anything else I should watch out for? The Kapton insulator and thermal pad were also installed out of the box. I noticed that with dlp6500evm (s600) it is recommended to design your own heatsink but I found nothing in this regard for type A. Should I then not be concerned about cooling while operating within specified voltage? Thank you!

  • Hello User,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI-E2E forums.

TI recommends a heat sink of some kind. How much will depend on the optical power you plan to put on the DMD.

Please contact DLi directly to confirm the correct mounting to the STAR 065 mechanical interface.
