DLP3010EVM-LC: Erased SPI flash on DLP development kit, need help to recover through cypress usb-serial bridge

Part Number: DLP3010EVM-LC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPDLC-GUI

I've managed to erase the entire spi-flash on our DLP3010EVM-LC  decelopment kit. I've read other placed on the forum here that it can be programmed through the SPI-bus from the cypress usb-serial chip on the board. However I can only connect in I2C-mode with the dlp347x light controller gui software.

Can you help with some software tool to program the SPI-flash again?

  • Hi Anders,

Connect the EVM to the latest version of the DLPDLC-GUI using USB with the EVM switched off (supply power using an external power supply but keep the switch on the EVM in off position) and use the "Update Firmware" option in the GUI to update the firmware through SPI.

Note that this will not work if the EVM is switched on.

Let us know if you're still facing issues.
