Hello E2E community, I had a question about the calibration of the device.

The responsivity curves of the components in the device have large variation over the wavelength range of the device. Is the output spectrum given by a scan corrected for these variations in wavelength responsivity (with factory settings)?

Each NIRscan Nano EVM is factory calibrated. Are you trying to assess a particular behavior on your system?

Ah, so it is factory calibrated. So does that mean that we do not have to make a spectral amplitude correction on the output spectrum from the device?

Hi Damon,

Typically the absorbance value (spectrum ) is used for spectral analysis. The absorbance is comparison of the reflected light from sample vs reflection through a 99% standard for each wavelength. This will not require any correction for spectral amplitude correction.
