DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2: How to enter binary pattern mode?

Hi,

I need to display patterns at custom bit-depth while receiving 60Hz 24-bit external video feed.

I have previously used the DLP Pico v2 (5+yrs ago) which allowed the 1440Hz binary pattern mode to be setup trivially.

However, having downloaded different EVM GUIs, I am not able to figure out how to enter the 1440Hz binary pattern mode with the DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2.

What I need is the Lightcrafter to take the 60Hz 24bit input and display it as 1440Hz 1-bit monochrome output

Is this even possible with DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 or have I bought the wrong EVM?

Hi Abe,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

The DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 EVM is designed for display application. It does not support structured light application (binary pattern projection).

The binary pattern is supported on DLPC3010EVM-LC Light control EVMs.

This is a major spanner in my plans.

We went for the G2 because Digikey marked the 3010 as obsolete (https://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/texas-instruments/DLPDLCR3010EVM/296-43438-ND/5066950

Is it possible to return the G2 and get the 3010 capable of structured light?

We have managed to get Digikey to accept a return.

However, before we order the replacement, can you kindly confirm that this module ( www<dot>digikey.com/products/en?mpart=DLP3010EVM-LC&v=296 ) is capable of binary mode patterns?

Hi Abe,

I am glad that you were able to return it. The EVM referenced in the link is for light control application.

I will also suggest to review the "DLP® Display and Light Control EVM GUI Tool" for features and supported patterns
