DLPC3479: 1D pattern only displays at right side of image on LCR4710EVM LC

Hi,

I have few questions on LCR4710EVM LC. The GUI version is 2.1.0.7.

1. I upload TI original v1.1 f/w to EVM. It takes 54 mins to finish. Is that correct? The GUI shows that it download master first then slave. It doesn't upload the f/w at the same time?

2. I don't have issue to use 1D pattern on LCR2010EVM LC and LCR3010EVM LC. I follow the same flow to use LCR4710EVM LC. I only can display the right side image. The left side image is what it displays originally like splash. the issue is there no matter I use 1D 1bit or 8bits, 1 pattern or multi pattern, vertical or horizontal. Anything wrong? I attach one of patterns in case you need to try it.

3. When I upload the f/w to DLPC3479, PC sends the data from USB-> cypress->i2c->DLPC->SPI->flash. is that correct?

Hi Frank,

This problem usually arises due to incorrect jumper configuration. Please refer to section 8 of the DLP4710EVM-LC EVM User Guide (dlpu079a.pdf). For LC modes pins 2 and 3 of jumper J9 must be connected. If trigger signals are used, jumpers J7 and J8 must also be set correctly.

pin 2 and 3 of jumper J9 is implemented when they get the EVM. So, Any other possibility?

Please see the pic below. by the way, i configure it to internal trigger. So, I think that the trigger in should not affect the result, right? Also, the upload time takes 54mins, is that normal? i don't add extra splash and only use few 1D patterns.

Azad is on vacation, I will look in to this, in the mean time.

Yes, 54mins download time doesn't look correct to me either, but i am not sure.

You are using the TI release firmware without changing/updating anything, right ?

I download it few times. It seems the download time is relative with the PC and if it's totally new f/w with the one in EVM. in average, it's only 14 mins. I think that it should be fine.

also, the 1D pattern issue, I have talked with Ganapathy and Mayra. I try the test f/w but doesn't work. I loop you in mail for detail.
