DLPLCR4500EVM: EVM not recognized for no reasons

Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM

Hi,

I received my EVM last friday and it worked properly in my setup for 2 days and I could record images this morning. But when I went back for lunch, for no apparent reasons, I am having issues with the device that is not recognized by my computer anymore (see screenshots). When turned on and connected to the computer (Windows10) the fan turns on, a moment later the green LED D4 turns on and stays on (instead of blinking) and then after a moment the projector flashes crazy RGB random patterns... The problem is reproduced with another computer and restarting changed nothing.

Do you have any idea what is happening ? Firmware corrupted ? I tried to look for similar forum thread but I was unlucky. Thank you for your answer,

Sincerely, Emilie

  • Hello Emilie,

Sorry to hear about the weird issues. Could you try reflashing the firmware by following the recovery procedure at this thread and let us know if that works?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Dear Kyle

Thank you so much for your answer. So I tried to put a jumper on J18 (I used the jumper from trigger input J12) and I turned on the light and connected it to the computer but, unlike in the thread, my computer still gives me a message "USB device not recognized" and the light does not connect to the GUI and I cannot upload any firmware... it does not seem I can enter the " bootloader mode". Here is a video of what is happening.

Thank you for your support, Emilie

  • Hi Emilie,
Could you kindly try another USB Cable / PC ? If this doesn't work, it may indicate there is some hardware issue with your board.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.

  • Hi,

I tried with other cables and other computers, still the same problem. I just received it four days ago and used it twice, if it is hardware issue is there any warranty on it ?

Thank you for your support, Emilie

  • Hi Emilie,

Kindly contact your distributor / TI Customer Support for return and warranty related information.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.
