DLPNIRNANOEVM: Transmissive EVM

Part Number: DLPNIRNANOEVM

Respected all,

I am using transmissive EVM for liquid quantification. I have following questions and problems?

1. I used to get the quantification of liquids using transmissive EVM through algorithms. Device with which the technology has been developed is working good and quantification of the sample is successful. I got the second device for the same purpose. But this second device is showing variations in spectral signature. For the same sample two devices are giving different spectral signatures. Why this device to device variation? How to deal with this?

2.  Is there any provision for customizing reflective EVM DLPNIR Nano for probes? Same question to have probes for transmissive modules whether we can replace cuvette with probes.  (900-1700nm)

3. Why DLPNIR nano EVM have random signatures above 1615nm? The spectral signatures become very noisy and meaningless above 1615nm? Why?  I am not able to have the full capacity of 1700nm?

Thank you,

Eagerly waiting to have TI answers!!

Kind regards,

Basavaraj

Please find response to your questions:

==> Could you please upload scans of same sample under exact same configuration from both EVMs? Please upload the detailed CSV file . This will help us get a better understanding.

    2.  Is there any provision for customizing reflective EVM DLPNIR Nano for probes? Same question to have probes for transmissive modules whether we can replace cuvette with probes.  (900-1700nm)

==> The illumination head from the EVM can be replaced with a purpose built fiber attachment which could connect to a probe along with illumination. The illumination head can be easily removed. You will need a purpose build fiber because entrance slit for EVM is rectangular and collection point will be very likely a circular spot. Please refer to section 3 "Fiber Coupled Illumination" of Texas Instruments DLP® NIRscan™ Nano Evaluation Module (EVM) Optical Design Considerations" application note.

==> Light output from the lamp used in EVM is bell shaped. It declines significantly on both end of spectrum. Since the light signal level is very low in those extreme end, the SNR is also low for  extreme end of the wavelength. Personally, I  have observed better  model prediction by discarding around 50 nm form both end i.e. only using value form 950nm to 1650nm.

  • Thank for this important information sir...

I will share the CSV results for device to device variation....

    Kind regards,
