Tilt angle

Hi

We are considering an application that would require a tilt angle of say +/-4 degrees rather than +/-12 degrees

Someone told me that the tilt angle can be reduced by applying less voltage. I was wondering if this is true, and if yes how to explore that

Thanks

Anat

  • Hello Anat,

Please advise what device/part number you are inquiring about - thank you!

  • This is not a question on a specific device, we are still in early stage of exploring applications. Is there any product of TI that can allow me to achieve binary tilt of micro mirrors with an angle smaller than +/-12 degrees, with modest modification?

  • Hi Anat,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you your interest in DLP technology.

Could you please more details about your application and requirement? What led you to conclusion that you need a +/- 4 tilt degree?

The DMD chip  an area modulator and typically mirror tilt angle have no impact on the application/use case. The tilt angle only impact the etendue of the DMD m which limits the maximum size of illumination source at given F/#. It also decides the separation angle for on-state and  off-state light cone.

The DMD mirrors are bi-stable and their tilt angle can not modulated/changed.
