DLPDLCR2010EVM: Replace the chipset

Part Number: DLPDLCR2010EVM

Dear All,

I would like to order DLPDLCR2010EVM Light Craft module and use DMD chipset in the setup to reflect the light. Is it possible to replace the DMD chipset in the DLPDLCR2010EVM Light Craft ?

For the full setup what else do I need to order with the module, such as adapter or other parts ?

Thank you in advance,

Astghik

  • Hello Astghik,

Are you asking if the DLP2010 DMD itself can be replaced? The DLP chipset includes the DMD, controller, and PMIC. This is all part of the EVM. Generally you will just need an appropriate power supply and a computer to stream video and configure the EVM. For more information please visit the DLPDLCR2010EVM product folder and view the user's guide.

If you have additional information about your application we may be able to better assist.

  • Dear Kyle Rakos,

Thank you for your quick reply. I know that DLP2010 Light Craft has DMD chipset for the wavelength range from 420 nm to 700 nm. I ordered another DMD Chipset for the NIR range. Can I replace the DMD chipset in the EVM Light craft  and use separately for both chipsets?  I ordered as well as power supply according to the  specifications in DLPDLCR2010EVM user's guide, the link is here : https://nl.mouser.com/ProductDetail/MEAN-WELL/GST18E05-P1J?qs=%2Fha2pyFadugUI%2FMcOjk8gAVQhApDxbt3oGuSE6pueLhI9Jd7SPpZkw%3D%3D.

I am sorry for bothering with my questions, but could you please look on it, if t suits or no ?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Astghik,

When you say DLP2010 chipset do you actually mean DLP2010 DMD? The DLP2010 is just the DMD. We additionally have a DLP2010NIR DMD that works in the near infrared wavelength. The chipset includes the DMD, PMIC, and controller.

The optical engine for the DLPDLCR2010EVM is optimized for visible light. We have the DLPNIRNANOEVM which uses the DLP2010NIR for spectrscopy. It is generally not simple to simply swap out the different DMDs.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

  • Dear Kyle,

Yes, I mean  DLP2010 DMD. I have now  DLP2010 DMD and  DLP2010NIR DMD.

I want to remove DLP2010 DMD from  DLPDLCR2010EVM and use reflected light from the surface of the DLP2010 DMD. Then replace  DLP2010 DMD with DLP2010NIR and again look on the reflection from the surface. I am not going to use the same optical engine for both DMDs. Is it possible to control switch of the mirrors in 2 different DMDs with the same DLPDLCR2010EVM (not including optical engine) ?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Astghik,

From the DLP2010NIR datasheet, "To ensure reliable operation, the DLP2010NIR DMD must always be used with a DLPC150/3470 controller and a DLPA200X PMIC". Therefore, you may want to use the DLP2010EVM-LC EVM instead which has the DLPC3470 which supports both the DLP2010 and DLP2010NIR.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
