DLPDLC-GUI: some problems with operating the DLP4100 discovery platform.

Part Number: DLPDLC-GUI

I am using the DLP Discovery 4100 Development Platform. And I followed the instructions in the Quick Start Guide on Operation in the user's guide. But after reboot and connecting the DLP, my computer did not detect the USB device and automatically install or prompt to install the driver. Then I follow the instructions to deal with this situation (after step 5). I find the D4100-USB.inf in my "C:\Program Files (x86)\D4100Explorer\Driver\Win10\x64" folder, but my computer just says that "the folder I specified did not contain the compatible driver…", as shown in the image I posted.  I tried to reinstall the software, but still useless.

  • Hello again Fan,

Can you verify which version of the D4100 board you have.  The DLPR410 should have a ver # on the sticker.  If the part shows DLPR410A, then it is the latest version.  Otherwise the information in the EVM guide may not work correctly.

While in the device properties can you also click on "Details" and select the property "Hardware Ids" and report the values that you find there?

  • I do not use Platform Cable II but use the USB cable to directly connect the board with my PC. And now It shows the "TI 4100 Explorer" driver in the Device Manager.

Then I opened the GUI and found that there only shows the USB connection status but not DMD type in the lower left status panel of the GUI, as shown in the snips. And I CAN NOT operate the DMD through GUI.

And I use C++ , run the code " GerNumDev() ", it returns "1".    But I run the code “GetDMDType(0)”, it returns "15",which means My DMD is not recognized.

I don not know whether I need the Platform Cable II, because I just need to operate the DMD to get different patterns.

  • Hello Fan,
