DMD problems

Hi,

I'm trying fault find a DLP projector (getting very little help from the manufacturer), which runs two DDP 3021 chips to a Darkchip (1910)1920 x 1080 DMD. The right half of the screen shows vertical lines which have been displaced, giving echo images. I initially thought this was a warm up problem, however this is not so. Periodically the fault clears then re appears, kind of a sync drift.

Is this type of problem likely to be the DMD chip, or one of the 3021 chips?.

Looking at the way the 3021 addresses the display I am guessing it is one of the 3021s.

Anyhelp would be much appreciated.

One other question, are thw Darkchip1 thro darkchip 4 all pinout compatible?

Hi Pete,

This sounds like a system issue. Who is the manufacture of this? Please work with the projector manufacturer on this. If TI needs to be involved, we will work with the manufacturer.

Hi,

I've identified the problem! However in doing so I've inadvertently blown one of the DAD1000 chips, can you point me to where i can source a single DAD1000 chip.

Hi Pete,

Unfortunately TI does not sell the DAD1000 individually. Maybe the manufacturer of the projector?

Hello,

I know that's a half year old post but I'm having the same problem as you and I saw you identified the problem. Was DDP3021 the problem? Or the DAD1000?

I've got a DMD device with 2x DDP3021 chips, half the image is covered with vertical bands (black and white) and sometimes it's solid white. I didn't find any documentation/datasheets for the affected chips.

As for the DAD1000 chip if you still need it you can source it from utsource.net

Hello,

I've tried that, didn't get an answer. In the meantime I succeeded in finding the problem. It's one of the RAM chips for DDP3021. I've already ordered the part hoping that this will solve my problem.
