there are 2 the dop 470 and the dlp660 both used in 4k projectors. other than a 4k or 5k lumin of light i am trying to know why lg uses the 660 chip when others are using 470 at 240 hz to produce 4k

Thank you for using the DLP E2E forums.
Typically a customer may choose the DLP660TE for a UHD projector due to its larger size, enabling better thermal efficiency and allowing for higher light output (up to 10K lumens). But other reasons, such as reusing existing optical modules, can also be a factor.
I do want clarify that our UHD chipsets are currently limited to 4K@60 Hz.
