DLPLCR4500EVM: DLPLCR4500: how to project 5 or 6 bit depth pattern?

Part Number: DLPLCR4500EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC350

Hi!

I want LCR4500 to project higher speed than 8 bit depth so I attempt to create 6 bit depth image with GUI 3.10 using 8 bit depth image(intensity 0~255). Then I try to project 6 bit pattern, but It seems LCR4500 project 8 bit pattern not 6 bit pattern.

How can I project 6 bit pattern?

Do I have to make the 6 bit pattern (intensity 0~63) first? or Can I make 6 bit pattern with GUI using 8 bit pattern?

This is my attempts. Input bmp file is  phase shift pattern (8bit).

  • Hello User,

It sounds like you are trying to limit the system to only 6-bits, is that correct?

Let me check with the team to confirm if there are any system limitations for sub 8-bit patterns.

  • Hi User,

I have looked into your query and with DLPC350 FWv4.1.0 and LCR4500 GUI v4.0.0, we are able to display 6 bit patterns without any issues. Could you kindly update to the latest version and try again? If you still face the problem, kindly provide your INI pattern settings and the test image so that we can reproduce the issue at our end and resolve faster!

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hirak.
