DLP2000: Maximum frame rate?

Part Number: DLP2000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPDLCR2000EVM, , DLP2010, DLPC350, DLP4500

The controller of the evaluation board (DLPDLCR2000EVM) supports a maximum frame rate of 60 Hz. We are using the DLPDLCR2000 for a custom project that requires higher frame rate, what would be the maximum possible frame rate of DLP2000 if we use a different controller? Is there a recommended one to achieve the maximum frame rate?

If you don't have information on DLP2000 because it's an older product, please provide the data for the newer generation.

Thanks!

  • Hello User,

The DLPDLCR2000EVM is limited to 60 Hz frame rate. However, We have built-in support for high frame rate applications on the DLPDLCR2010EVM, which goes up to 240 Hz. The DLP2010 DMD supports WVGA resolution native.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions.

  • Hello Philippe,

Thank you for the information! I saw that DLP3000 supports a frame rate of 4000 Hz for binary operation, but it has been discontinued. Would you know what is the newer version of this chip or is there another one that can give around the same frame rate?

We are interested in using the device in monochrome mode so that would be 4000Hz (or even higher) FPS 1-bit streaming mode.

  • Hello User,

It sounds like you are actually looking for a light control solution with binary pattern streaming. For >=4000 Hz binary patterns, you should consider the DLP4500 DMD with the DLPC350 controller, which supports binary patterns up to 4225 Hz. There is an associated EVM for this chipset (LightCrafter 4500 EVM):

    I hope this helps.
