DLPNIRNANOEVM: Software error messages

Hello-

I received the two error messages below after downloading the latest software, version date 5/24/17, from this site: http://www.ti.com/tool/DLPNIRNANOEVM . Please let me know if these issues need to be fixed and how to fix them before I begin scanning. Thank you. - Chris

Hello Christopher,

This EVM has older version of firmware. I would recommend to upgrade software. Please refer to section 2.3 (Page 22) of "DLP® NIRscan™ Nano EVM User's Guide User's Guide".

Vivek, there is an additional problem - On the Utilities screen, the "DLPC150 Firmware Update" fields are not activated (screenshot below). I'm assuming that I need to have this update, as the User's Guide says "These errors indicate the Tiva firmware, with its corresponding DLP Spectrum Library, and/or the DLPC150 firmware need to be updated on the NIRscan Nano."

Hello Chris,

From the screen capture, it seems the EVM is not connected to the GUI. When properly connected., it should be solid green and "connected" word next to it. It should not show "Not Connected"

This problem typically occurs when USB cable has higher voltage drop across and EVM is not getting sufficient voltage to power up completely. Please try couple of other USB cable see if this issue is resolved. Some time the USB port may not be able to supply required current and that may also cause this issue.

Please change around the USB port and experiment. Once it is connected and the button is green then you can proceed to upgrade firmware.
