DLP2010NIR: Wavelength range

Part Number: DLP2010NIR
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4500NIR

According to the datasheet of DLP2010NIR (or DLP4500NIR), the wavelength range is up to 2.5um. I want to know that if the two device can be applied for longer wavelength, such as 5um? or 12um?

The reflecting material is aluminum, can we expand the wavelength range by increase the height of Al in theory?

Thanks for your explanation!

  • Hello,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank your interest in DLP technology.

These devices have are qualified for NIR wavelength up to 2500 nm. I believe the DMD window will be gating items and transmission efficiency will fall significantly as you go further from 2500 nm.

Please refer to the following applicatio note window transmisison :

  • Dear Vivek,

    Thanks for your reply!

I have viewed the linked pdf.   The window of DLP2010NIR (material of Corning Eagle XG) has a near 100% transmittance below 2.5um, and the coefficient seems to decrease rapidly beyond 2.5um.

However, I still want to know the exact transmission coefficient in 3um-5um(In fact ,10um - 14um is useful, too, haha). Even the coefficient drops to 50%? or 20%, it can be helpful to our research.

Is there any chance that I can find out the transmission coefficient in 3um-5um and 10um-14um?

    best wishes,

    Shun Jiang

  • Hello Shun,

We do not the transmission coefficient  for window glass at 3 um -5 um or higher wavelength.  You may have run experiment to measure the efficiency.
