Dear Sir or Madam,

I need to quickly develop a proof of concept by integrating the DLP NIRscan Nano EVM into a process. For this, I just need to be able to send command(s) over a USB connection to perform a scan and obtain CSV output files. In a sense, I just need to be able to simulate "clicking the SCAN button" in the GUI application with a preset configuration.

What will be the easiest/quickest approach? My current thought is to send a series of commands over USB, retrieve the data, send them to the spectrum library DLL and get the result CSV. Any suggestion is appreciated.

(I have downloaded the source for both the reference software and the spectrum library. But I wonder is there a simplified/brief document which gives the interface commands etc?)

Have you checked the USB commands listing in the DLP NIRscan Nano EVM User's Guide (see section H.1 for USB-specific commands). This features commands such as start scan, which may suit your purposes.

What are you using to process data?

Thanks for the response. Yes, I checked the H.1 and had a few trial without success. It is likely my mistake. But is there any simple example available to give a minimal working example?

Meanwhile, I assume the data from the device will be binary (i.e. the DAT file). If so, I will need to pass the binary data to the spectrum library to get the CSV data. Is there a minimal example to show me how to do this? (maybe using the pre-built DLL?).

To answer your question, the output data will be used for a material recognition program.

Hi Xing,

Kindly check the GUI Source code. The easier way to go about this is to predefined APIs in the GUI source. For example, you can use PerformScanReadData() to take a scan and read scan data blob, and then can use spectrum.SetData() to interpret the scan data, and subsequently can use the spectrum.SaveToFile() function to save the excel on disk. You can look at the GUI code for function description and use model for this functions. Hope this helps!
