Does the Pico Development Kit 1.0 has the function of Structured Light Pattern?

Hi,

I am going to make an application with the function of the high-frame-frequency structured light pattern function of Pico Development Kit 2.0 nowadays, however, I'm disappointed to know that the PicoKit 2.0 is not available until June this  year because of no stocks. It's too long to wait for.

So,does the Pico Development Kit 1.0  has the function of Structured Light Pattern?Or  can it be modified to have this function?

  • Hello Yongfeng. Welcome to the DLP E2E forum.

No. The Pico Kit V1.0 does not have the Structured Light Pattern capability. This was added to the V2.

I have sent you a friend request. Please respond if you would like to talk some more about this.

  • I imagine there are quite a few frustrated V2 kit users out there right now.   Given the current lack of any available development kits, I have three questions:

    1) Does anyone know why Young Optics decided to recall their stock of development kits?

    2) Will TI be releasing any new development kits based on either the 0.3" 864x480 chipset (used in the current generation of commercial projectors, for example the Optoma PK201), or the recently announced XVGA DLP Pico chip?

    3) Is the high-speed functionality available in any of the commercial DLP pico projectors (Optoma, LG,  BenQ, Samsung etc)?

  • Andrew,

I have sent you a friend request, if you would like to discuss this.

To answer your question 3): The high-speed pattern functionality is not available, as far as I know, in any of the comercial DLP pico projectors. However, you should always ask the manufacturer directly any questions about their products.

    Best regards,
