Blue streaks across light commander output

Hello,

I am noticing that when I display any image using all LEDs (white light), I see some streaks (mostly blue-ish) across the display surface.  Any idea why this is happening?  I have just recently purchases the light commander, and I'm not sure if I am supposed to do some tuning before using it seriously.

  • Hello Shwetadwip,

I would suggest first checking the aperture setting on the Nikkon lens.  When you first install the lens, the instructions recommend setting it to 1.8.  Depending on the aperture and the distance to the surface you are projecting to, you might see color streaks.  If changing the aperture doesn't fix the problem, please let me know and we will take it from there.

    Regards,

    Raul

  • Dear Raul,

coud you please state the constraints on the aperture and distance of focus to avoid these colour artifacts? I want to produce a minified image of the mirror at a short distance and this information would be very useful.

  • Hello Victor,

Welcome to the DLP section of the TI E2E community.

You can begin to see a little variation at F4.  F#'s smaller than that should be ok.
