Hi team,

DLPNIRNANOEVM has two lamps as source to measure reflected spectrum.My customer wants to turn off lamp and measure spectrum from LED or VCSEL,

Is that ok？

Another question, if it is OK, how large is the entrance port size.

on the page 14,it shows one schematic, and mentions the collection lens gather light from a 2.5mm diameter region.

Can we understand the light shine into this 2.5mm region can be collected?

Thank you for your patience. May I know why your customer wants to use LED or laser? In a typical spectral sensing application, you want to shine a broad spectrum of light and detect absorption at various frequency. Typical LED have only 10-20nm range and VCEL are even narrower, unless they are using a series of LEDs or lasers.

your second question about sample spot size 2.5 mm. The lens in front of lamp create a light spot size of 2.5 mm diameter at the windows on illumination module. When you place a sample against the windows, the light a reflected back. The collection lens takes this light (page 14 , figure 1-4) and images on the opening slit (page 13, figure 1-3). The slit size is 1.8 mmx0.025mm (page 11).

Correct me if I am mistaken. You are looking for the minimum exposure time and intensity for the DLPNIRNANOEVM to measure. Is this correct?

Will these light be generated through LED or laser?

Thanks a lot. I want to use it to measure spectrum from LED/laser if it is OK. Understood your concern that spectrum of source should be wide to be measured, and yes, the LED has wide spectrum.

I know the allowed exposure time which mentioned in the manual, could you confirm that again? My main question is under minimum exposure time, what is the recommended power collected by spectrometer (i.e. 500nm, 1000nm, and 1500nm respectively)? I am checking LED distance to spectrometer to make sure the collected power is strong enough.

Thank you for your patience. We did investigate for any previous design parameter for minimum energy/light at input of slit. Unfortunately, I do not have any information to share.

You have experiment and find out the best option for the optical module used in this this.
