DLP2010EVM-LC: Flash IC and firmware

Part Number: DLP2010EVM-LC

Hello TI,

I'm working with the DLP2010EVM-LC and would like to place a different Flash IC on the EVM or on a daughter PCB.

The EVM uses a MX25L6473EZNI-10G and the one I would like to place is a W25Q64JVSSIQE.

Will this work without any alteration to the firmware?

Also, do I need to load the firmware on to the new Flash IC before soldering it, or can I load the firmware on to the new Flash IC through the DLP-GUI, just like a firmware update?

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology.

the DLP-GUI can load the firmware to a system's flash even if the system itself does not boot, as the flashing process is handled via external SPI IC. However, we have not validated the DLP-GUI + EVM with this particular flash part so we cannot guarantee that the DLP-GUI software will recognize the W25Q64JVSSIQE as a valid flash target.

The W25Q64JVSSIQE seems to work just fine with the DLP2010EVM-LC.
