Questions about the material of micromirrors of DLP

Hi,

We are trying to extend the application of the DLP to Bragg diffraction. There are some earlier references about the DMD which show that the micromirrors of the DMD are made of silicon with aluminum deposition. Is this correct for the current DLP products? For our applications, we want the micromirrors to be pure silicon. Is it possible that we can remove the aluminum surface?

Thanks a lot.

  • Hello Zhi,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

The micro mirror structure in DMD are made of aluminium. It is true for all DMD products.

We can not replace aluminum, it part of MEMs manufacturing process.

    regards,

    Vivek
