DLPDLCR2010EVM: Projection problem

Hello Tristan,

Welcome to TI E2E forums and thanks for showing interest in the DLP technology. 

I am suspecting the root cause of this issue might be due to firmware corruption. 

Can you please try updating the latest firmware on the EVM by keeping the SW1 switch in the off position?

Unfortunately, it didn't resolve the issue.

I have no error on the GUI, however he can't give the temperatue and the EVM software number (which is now 0.0.0)

I forgot to notice that the LED D9 is also blinking.

Based on the schematic for this EVM (from https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00325) D5 is HOST_IRQ, D6 is RESETZ, and D9 is one of the MSP430 status bits (for use during communication).

If HOST_IRQ is not going low and RESETZ is blinking, you are probably encountering a failure during bootup. As Mayank said, this could be a corrupted firmware.

You should also verify all the system connections (LED cables, DMD flex cable) are secured properly. You should also verify the power supply you are using is compatible. Can you share what power supply you have connected to this system?

It maybe the system connection indeed, I disconnected the projector last week to do some test (But it worked this mornig for something like one hour before it shut down). Is there a thing that I can do to test the connections?

The power supply:

Input 100-240V, 50-60Hz, 05A

Output +5V 3 A

model: TE20A0503F01

What were you doing on the system when it shut down? Did you send any commands through I2C?

There is unfortunately not a routine you can run to test the connection. If the LEDs or the DMD are not detected by the DLP controller (such as if your cable is bad or not properly connected) the system will fail to boot.

This choice of power supply looks OK. Do you know if your power supply might be faulty? Do you have extras of the same model?

I was working to look how I could integrate your module to do my test, thus, maybe I done a bad movement.. (even if it seem's weird)

I'm pretty sure that the power supply is fine and it is not the problem.

Hello Tristan,

Can you confirm that the GUI is communicating with the board? Have you been able to confirm that the flash was updated? Is any activity (flashing LEDs) present when flashing the device?

As Philippe suggested, I would urge you to check your connections by assuring that no cables or ribbons are loose on there respective headers.
