DLP2010EVM-LC: Vertical Offset of the projection and trigger In functionality

Good Morning,

I have some questions regarding the DLP2010EVM-LC.

First of allI was wondering what the vertical offset of the DLP is?

I was not able to find this in the datasheets and guides.

If it is not clear you can see in the picture below what i mean by offset.

And is it possible to somehow adjust the offset?

My second question is if there is any way to use the “trigger in” functionality outside of internal pattern streaming mode?

If I understood correctly it is exclusively made for that mode but I just wanted to make sure that there is no way to start displaying video via hdmi using some kind of “trigger in” signal.

Hello Cyril,

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

I am not able to view your image, but offset adjustment is available for the DLP2010EVM-LC. If using the GUI, vertical offset is available can be altered by using the Get and Set buttons while populating the Vertical Offset field in the Display Settings tab.

In regards to the trigger in functionality, you are correct. It can only be used to advance through pattern selections in the Internal Pattern Display mode. It is not capable of switching display modes.

More information on the trigger in function can be found in Section 7.3 of the DLP2010 Light Control EVM User's Guide and Section 8.3 of the DLPC3470 Datasheet.

Hello Austin

Thank you very much for your quick answer. I found the offset settings you told me, but it does not seem to change much when i change the vertical offset.

My goal would be to have the optical axis aligned with the middle of the projected image like it is shown in the picture below.

Is this even possible? And if yes, how(with what offset value) would i achieve this?

With the EVM, it is not possible to meet your display requirements as EVM uses a 100% optical engine. In order to meet your requirement - you will need a 0% offset optical engine.
