DLPDLCR660TEVM: Displaying custom patterns

Part Number: DLPDLCR660TEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC4422, , DLPLCRDC4422EVM

Hi,

I would like to be able to display custom static patterns on the DMD. I'm using the DLPC4422 GUI. I've seen responses on this board saying that you can do so with DLP composer software, but also that it can be done with an external source with a front-end card that has a V-by-1 interface. For static patterns, which method would be better? In the case of using an external source, how does that work?

Thank you,

Katya

  • Hello Katya,

Thank you for using the DLP E2E forums.
To display custom patterns with the DLPLCRDC4422EVM+ DLPDLCR660TEVM you will need to use an external source.

The DLPLCRDC4422EVM utilizes a V-by-1 input interface for external sources, so you will need to find a suitable HDMI to V-by-1 front-end chip/board.
I will refer you to this existing thread regarding this topic. (DLP660TE: /DLPLCRDC4422EVM: HDMI to V-by-One Solution?)

Lastly I did want to share that you can use the internal Test Patten Generator within the DLPLCRDC4422EVM to display pre-existing test patterns using the DLPC4422 GUI. The image attached shows how you can enable these test patterns in the GUI.

First you will need to set the projection mode to "TESTPATTERN" then set the desired test pattern under "TPG Pattern".

    Regards,
    Oscar
