DLP4500: loading "bin"ed images onto the projector

Hi,

The DLP GUI that runs my DLP4500 takes much, much too long to manually load images into the projector. I have patterns which I have to load that are 20+ images, and the way that I'm doing it requires each one to be manually added. Is there a way that I could create the "bin" which includes all of the images, outside of the DLP GUI?

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

I will have to look into any options that we might have for this.

Are you using the EVM or a custom board? If it is a custom board you may consider flashing the image through a SPI host adapter. An example of this would be Total Phase's Cheetah.

I am using the EVM: DLP LightCrafter 4500 Control Software v4.0.0. I want a better way of loading images onto the memory, where I don't have to manually click every single one. Potentially, this could look like a method to upload multiple images at once, either by using another program to output the .bin file that I compile inside the DLP GUI.

Have you looked into the DLP4500 GUI source code? You may be able to customize the pattern image generation/loading method to your liking.

Sounds promising, but "may" being able to customize the pattern generation is not good enough, so I'm asking if this functionality is in fact included in the SDK. I don't have time to pal around and use the SDK, please use your knowledge to tell me if the functionality is included. I can't find any documentation on what the SDK can be used for. This link:

only helps with installing the SDK, not explaining how to use the SDK...

Hello Niall,

Unfortunately this does not have the specific application of producing a bin for the images as you describe above.

We were suggesting that the source code be altered to perform this task automatically. It would take some coding on your part.
