DLPD4X00KIT: Laser Light Source Projector Design

Part Number: DLPD4X00KIT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP650LNIR

Hello.

I would like to design a laser light source projector to create a structured lighting system.
(1) Is there an optical system that is an example of a laser light source?
(2) Is there a difference between telecentric and non-telecentric depending on the presence or absence of a prism in the optical system of the DLP™ system, and does it affect the laser source, such as interference from DN2509927?
If it is a simple design, there is no need to put in a prism.
(3) If a prism is needed, I would like to know if there is a prism that fits the DLP650LNIR.

Thank you for your help.

  • Hello User,

Please contact ViALUX (Europe) or Digital Light Innovations (US).  They do have some optics, but you would have couple in your laser.  Please see the following page as a starting point.  Check with them about whether there is a prism in the design.

The prism simply makes the design more compact.  We will have to ask one of our optical experts regarding the telecentric vs. non-telecentric.

Regarding the Application Note you reference, there will always be some diffraction effects when using laser.  Making the aperture larger will help some.
