DLPC3478: Timing constraints for trigger in signal relative to pattern ready and pre/exposure/post-dark time

How can we know when the dlpc3478 firmware will accept a new trigger in edge to start next pattern in a sequence?
from datasheet it seems like pattern ready signal will only be asserted once for each pattern set, but what about the patterns within a set?
is it enough to wait the pre-dark + exposure + post-dark times, then assert the trigger in to get a new pattern immediately?
how can we make sure dlpc3478 does not miss a trigger-in? (wait for and count trigger out signal?)
