Hello Marco,
Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.
Do you see any activity from the EVM at all? Do any lights or fans turn on when a power source is applied?
Regards,
Austin
Hello Austin,
our customer says:
...there is no more activity in the DLP projector, this results in short circuit and the load has gone beyond 6A
Hello Macro,
Was there any hardware change made by the customer which resulted in such behavior?
If not, can you ask them to contact TI customer support center if the EVM is still in the warranty period.
Regards,
Mayank
Hello Mayank,
unfortunately we cannot disturb our client, he is a professor of an Italian university, however the projector has already returned to us and we have verified that it is short-circuited and absorbs 6A.
We do not know that it has been changed in the hardware.
One thing for sure we can say is that the projector will need to be fixed a card or replaced.
The projector is new it was purchased on 11/16/2020 invoice 5851578151
We bought another DLP projector from Texas that is on delivery today to close our customer's supply.
Therefore we kindly ask how to proceed for the repair / replacement.
Regards
Marco
Hi Marco,
For returns, please see this ti.com webpage on returns: https://www.ti.com/support-quality/additional-information/customer-returns.html .
I hope this helps.
Hello Christopher,
don't understand why my return / repair request was declined. What is the reason that TI does not want to provide after-sales technical assistance?
Please advise.
Thanks and regards
Marco
I opened CPR201047428 and received the answer below, what should I do to get the replacement or repair?
I cannot understand what to do.
I ask for help
Thanks
Declined : other: please see details in comments section below-Dear Mr. Marco Sonetti, This CPR portal is to return device related to quality issue. To request for repair of EVM, please go to our other portal (E2E): https://e2e.ti.com/ The application team will be able to assist you on getting the EVM repaired.
Marco,
Based on your feedback above, it not clear whether the device was modified in any way or used improperly. If, for example, the wrong power supply was used this may have caused the system to short circuit and fail.
Customer support here is saying that they only accept returns in this case for quality-related issues. An example of this would be if the device was received faulty out of the box. If the device was damaged by the user then I don't believe customer support will take it.
In order to repair the system we would need to understand what was done with it. Most likely, if there is a short circuit then one of the voltage regulators is damaged.
I hope this clarifies; I apologize for the inconvenience.
Best Regards,
Philippe Dollo
