Dear,

This is a question related to the EXRES pin on the DLPC350. I know the value 160R is used in the evaluation kit, and we used it in our prototypes.

Our purchase department asked me if this value may be replaced with 169R resistor.

Is there any explanation how this value affects the driving strength?

Welcome to the E2E forums, and thank you for your interest in our DLP technology.

I'll need to verify whether we specify a valid range for this component. Regardless of the value used, however, the resistor must be a +/- 1% precision component.

It does not appear that the chipset has been validated with regards to using values outside of the 160 Ohm standard value suggested. As such we cannot guarantee performance with a larger resistance. I apologize for the inconvenience.
