Hi Team,

Do we have DMD system that can be coupled with an external light source (e.g. Solis® LED System from ThorLabs)?  Can DLP3010LC can support this?

    Could you please more details about the application and use case?

    In order to efficiently use an illumination source for DMD, the illumination source needs to coupled with appropriate optics.  Some the key requirements are:

    1. The light source needs to same or smaller etendue than  offered by the DMD which depend on area of DMD and F/# of the optics. This limits the surface area of LED and collection angle. If LED etendue  is bigger than the DMD then all light is not collected.

    2. Most of the optical design for DLP projector are telocentric.  As result the light incident on DMD needs to be telemetric and  light cone  needs to match F/#.

    The DLPC3010LC optical engine is can not be modified to use referenced large light source. TI does offer EVM with DMD only and one can use these DMD with purpose built optics.  I would recommend  DLP LightCrafter 6500 and DLP LightCrafter 9000 . Please see if these meet the requirement.
