NDK helloworld example for EVM6678 not calling NetworkClose()

Here's the deal- if you press 'terminate' within CCS, that literally halts processor execution, so any cleanup code will not get called (my appologies if you already knew this).  That said, the helloworld example is pretty basic and the intended usecase appears to be an infinite loop, so that NetworkClose function would likely never get called (that initialization code is reused for nearly all the NDK examples, so it is not suprising it is there, but "unused").

When you write your real application, make sure you call NC_NetStop(0);  This will gracefully shutdown the NDK stack and your network subsystem will come up properly on the next execution.  You could modify the helloworld example to look for a magic sequence that calls NC_NetStop. 

I did a little experiment to see if NC_NetStop() will actually cause the NetworkClose callback to fire, and that was inconclusive (breakpoint never tripped), but the NDK stack will come up cleanly.

Thanks for your response. I tried calling NC_NetStop(0) just before BIOS_exit() and it did not help. If I try to load the program again without resetting the board, it gives a Heap error & in my subsequent attempt it gives an Error "Cannot Obtain Tx buffers" , "Failed to Add Mac addr" and so on..

I'll post the exact error messages once I get back on it.

I tried calling NC_NetStop() but that doesn't work is it anything to do with the Tools version ?

Here is the of tools I used:

SYS/BIOS : 6.34.2.18

NDK : 2.20.4.26

MCSDK PDK TMS320C6678 : 1.0.0.17

Your versions are not the most current, but the issue you are seeing is in the latest as well.

I will find out if there is a workaround or plans for a fix in future releases.
