Did the Keystone II test with 8GByte DDR3 memory?
If yes, could you tell me the detail info of the 8GB memory?
We want to by one for testing.
Thanks.

Hi Zhigang,
We have tested the K2K and K2H devices with a 4GB and 8BG dual-rank UDIMMs. The Micron MT18JSF51272AZ-4GB and the Kingston Technology 996 5525-024.A00LF are both JEDEC compliant dual-rank DDR3-1600 UDIMM modules. Both of these have been tested with the KeyStone II devices.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for you reply.
I tried to run u-boot with a 8GB Kingston DDR3-1600 on Keystone II, but it can't boot up.
Is there any modification needed in u-boot?
Regards,
Zhigang
Bill-san,
I am evaluating 66AK2H06.
Although I am looking for the "Kingston Technology 996 5525-024.A00LF" in the Kingston site, I can not find it.
Is it the special parts provided only for specific application?
For general application, we need to use Micron parts. right?
Best regards, RY
RY-san,
My apologies, I posted the wrong number for the Kingston device. The part number should be KVR16E11/8. I accidentally posted the module assembly number.
Regards, Bill
Bill,
The KVR16E11/8 is 240-pin, but Keystone II can only use 204-pin memory.
I tried it with KVR16S11/8, but the u-boot can't boot up on Keystone II.

Zhigang
Hi Zhigang,
The memories that I listed were used on a different test platform which has a UDIMM connector. That test platform was used for DDR3 memory testing with different memory topology when paired with the KeyStone II device. The part number you listed is an SODIMM which is the format used on the EVM. The EVM was designed to use x72bit DDR3 SODIMM modules which are not pin compatible with x64bit SODIMMs. Since the Kingston device you referenced is a x64bit SODIMM module it will not work if installed on the EVM. I am not aware of any 8G SODIMM modules that have been tested with the EVM but I will check with the manufacturer.
Regards, Bill
Hi Zhigang,
The Micron MT18KSF1G72HZ-1G6E2ZF has been tested with the EVM. This is the only 8G memory module currently supported by UBOOT on the EVM.
Regards, Bill
Hi Zhigang,
The link below will take you to a file with the 8G SODIMM configuration for the above module on the external git repo.
Regards, Bill
Hi Sambit,
As I described earlier in the post, the x64bit SODIMM connector pinout is not the same as the x72bit SODIMM connector. The K2H and K2E EVMs were designed to use the x72bit SODIMM modules and do not support x64bit SODIMM modules.

Bill
