Keystone II Licensing Questions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCI6638K2K

Hello TI,

Two questions

1)      It looks like developing code for the ARM processor can be done with the Linaro toolset, freely available.   But DSP code development will require using Code Composer and the TI compiler for DSP.  What is the licensing arrangement with the TI tools ?  What’s the license cost, is it a per system or site license, etc?

 2)      With the EVM I understand that we have a 90-day trial license so that we can evaluate the product.  When I try to connect CCS to the EVM I create a target configuration of:

 Connection = TI XDS2xx USB Emulator

  Device = TCI6638K2K

 When I try to connect I get an error that my license only allows connections to simulators and EVMs.  Clearly I’m doing something wrong.  The documentation that comes with the EVM says to select XDS2xx USB Emulator and TCI6638, but that option doesn’t exist.

Where am I going wrong ?
