C6678 EMIF READ

Hi TI,

I was wondering, what is the undocumented register and bit to disable unused internal EMIF feature for read. Please tell me, because I do not like to try all register and write to them, to speed up EMIF read request (Also I do not have any super computer). I am sure that EMIF speed of C6678 can not be much slower than C55xx's (about 50MBPS).

Hi Alex,

This feature can be disabled by setting the msb of 0x20C00008 to 1. I recommend setting this in all cases for the C6678, and placing it near the top of your main() function.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried this code but it only affect on EMIF write speed not "READ". Write speed is good enough (about 60MBPS). I think, there is another secret register for read.

Hi Alex,

The register bit in 0x20C00008 isn't specific to reads or writes, it only disables an unused feature in the EMIF IP. There are no 'secret registers' specific to reads or writes.

Thanks for your reply.

I apologize for my mistake. You are right. I forgot to program EMIF registers to reduce setup, strobe and hold time. Now every thing is good enough. Read and write speed is around 50MBPS. Thanks TI.
