Hi,
What is the Max Junction Temperature of C6678 (commercial type)?
The data-sheet only specifies the max Case temperature.
Thank you!

Hi,
I'd like to re-open that question again.
Although it was answered that the Tj-max is not available and it should be calculated with known case temperature and thermal resistance, when referring to the thermal model of C6678 (sprr185.zip) - it is mentioned that if no description for Tj-max value, the maximum allowable junction temperature shall be 100 degree.
So, the question is if Tj-max can be considered as 100 deg?
Thanks
Eliezer,
The C6678 Data Manual ratings state the maximum case temperature. Operation must always be within the rated temperature. Case temperature is used since it can be measured accurately. You can use the same temp for the junction and case at the high limit for conservative estimation. Assuming that the system thermal design transfers almost all heat through lid to a heat sink, the ThetaJC value can be used to estimate a maximum junction temp that does not exceed the maximum rated case temperature.
You referenced the note in the readme file provided along with the thermal models (copied below). These models were created before production data manuals were released. As can be seen, this note is no longer applicable since production data manuals are available for C6678 devices.
When no data manual exists, the maximum allowable junction temperature shall not under any condition exceed 100°C! Failure to comply with this requirement will reduce device reliability and void any device warranty. As always, refer to your data manual for absolute maximum operating conditions.
