Dear All,

in our custom DM814x based device, we would like to use HDMI 1080p in portrait mode.

Is there any way to rotate fb area?

IIUC there no native support on fb driver (there's nothing like what's available, for example, on AM3517 with VRFB).

Should we use the TILER subsystem? If so, is there any example in how to implement fb rotation with TILER?

Hi,

Tiler is not support on fbdev, further grpx cant use tiler for 1080P inputs. This is a hardware limitation.

IIUC there's no way on DM8148 to hardware rotate a fb, correct?

Hi,

It can do but not full 1080p frame, again size that it can rotate depends on the format you use.

Hi,

Further Tiler memory manager is also not support for GRPX (/dev/fbdev interface) in software, Tiler is used in EZSDK for Video data encoding and decoding in tiled format.
