How to enable McBSP in DM814X under linux kernel ?

Dear Experts,

We are using DM814X with EVM and Custom board.
There is McBSP interface on our board, we want to use McBSP as serial interface.
However, in Linux Kernel 2.6.37 (EZSDK5/DVRRDK3.0), there is no example to use McBSP in DM814X.

Where can I find driver/example code to enable McBSP in DM814X under linux kernel ?
Can McBSP be utilized like linux uart device?

Hello,

To enable with menuconfig:

-> System Type
-> TI OMAP Common Features

->McBSP support

The driver should be located at <EZSDK_HOME>/board-support/linux-XX/arch/arm/mach-omap2/mcbsp.c

There is no case for DM814X/DM816X.

How to utilize this driver in DM814X board ?

Does TI have any patch for DM814X/DM816X ?

HB,

Regardless of the name I think you should try out that. My opinion is that this is the way to go even on these platforms.

The OMAP3/4 McBSP driver is located at arch/arm/plat-omap/mcbsp.c

Yes, you should setup DM814x McBSP in board file, like McASP and McPDM for example.

arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-ti8148evm.c - see how DM814x McASP is setup
arch/arm/plat-omap/devices.c - see how OMAP3/4 McBSP and McPDM are setup
