DM8148 Silicon Revision Compatibilty

Hi,

We already use TMS320DM8148BCYE1, which is from silicon revision 2.1. 

As revision 2.1 has become obsolete, we are not sure about which one we should buy. Revision 3 has 2 major categories:

  • S = Video Security
  • C = Other

Video Security is the category that applies to our product, and I think that TMS320DM8148SCYE1 would be the correct replacement to our case. But this part number is out of stock on all major distributors.

So, my questions are:

  1. What are the main differences between Silicon Revision 3.0 S (Video Security) and Silicon Revision 3.0 C (Other)?
    1. Is there any document explaining those differences?
  2. As TMS320DM8148SCYE1 is out of stock, which part number (in stock on distributor inventory) would be an adequate replacement?
