Linux/TMS320DM8148: Software Support for ISP and Video Port

Hello,

We trying to choose a platform for the following application

- CMOS Sensor Input

- BT656 Input

- Analog Video Support (TVP)

- H.264 encoding

I wanted to find out which software package will be more appropriate to support the above use-case.

Does IPNC support TVP/BT656 in software. Other than IPNC/DVR. What are the other software options available to support all the above interfaces.

Are there any other processors other than DM8148 which support both ISP, Video decoder & H.264 that we need to look at.

Hi Sriram,

IPNC is the only one supporting CMOS camera input via ISS. So if you want input via ISS, there is no other option.
IPNC also support other inputs via VIP.

Hi Brijesh,

Can you please point me to the reference platform & software version details on which both the ISS and the Video input port (TVP decoder) support has been tested.

Hi Brijesh,

Do you have any idea on what reference platforms support both the ISS and Video ports?

We would want to test IPNC on that. The current IPNC RDK supports DM8127 and DM38x CSK kits.
The above two reference hardwares don't have video port port support.

it would be helpful if you point us to the right platform.

Which video port you are referring? Is it input or output?

Hi brijesh,

I was referring to video input ports. We would want to connect a BT656 source and a analog video input (through tvp decoder) apart from a camera.

Sriram,

Unfortunately, there is no existing usecase using both the ports, but you could easily create. Both the ports are supported.
