Hi, every one :~)

I have some questions about DM8168 EVM 's cpu fan:

1.  Is the fan necessary?

2.  How to choose the cpu fan?

3.  Is the PC North Bridge Chipset Fan suitable for DM8168?

    Hello,

    A fan is not necessary, but a heat dissipation solution of some type is required for proper device operation as described in the Device Operating Conditions section of the datasheet.  The key point is that the junction temperature should not exceed 95C during operation.  The type of heat dissipation solution required depends on a lot of parameters, such as what you are doing with the device and system characteristics.  We have a thermal model of the device available - contact your local TI rep for access.  The device EVM is one example of a thermal dissipation solution using a fan.
