TMS320C6A8167 Interconnect Bandwidth

What is the bandwidth of the system interconnect?  I need to get data to the DSP and need to know the internal bandwidth limitations for the data interconnects to the DSP block.

Thanks!

  • Hi Paul,

The bandwidth depends on several aspects -

    1. DDR speed and number of DDR ports used (1x or 2x).

    2. Interconnect (l3) speed (example 500Mhz).

    3. DSP interface speed (same as DSP clock speed)

In most cases it will be limited by the L3 clock speed, say for a L3 interconnect clock of 500Mhz (DSP has a 128bit read & write port to the L3 fabric), the theoritical DSP bandwidth is 128 bit x 500 Mhz = 8000 MB/sec in either direction. Practically however it will be limited by other traffic on the L3 fabric and DDR efficiency of the system.
