osd window scroll problem

i do some other test ,and found that if i linked the osd link after the swms ,when i change the osd window startX for rolling(+2),before the osd window would have a shadow flash once for change .but if the OSD link is before the swms link ,it will not have the shadow flash,but when it is rolling for horizontal,it is still flashing.

so whether is there a way to fix the problem？

the result is like following .when the osd window is rolling(startX+2 per second),before the osd window will have shadow mosaic flash and the osd window is flashing too.

Hi,

Are you moving the OSD every frame or once in few frames. What is the frequency at which you move OSD?

i do the test like that ,i have 16 720*576 dec local file ,each channel dec a frame for 30ms,whatever seconds i move the OSD for example 30ms,60ms,100ms,300ms, the OSD rolled alse has the above effects

Pls attach you application code that is doing OSD update and the RGB88 OSD content you are using.We are unable to recreate the issue with the multich_car_dvr usecase where OSD is present after SwMs.We require your application code to be able to recreate the issue.

because i see the RDK demo can change the osd startX,so i just do like following:

Hi,

You have to ensure that osdParam[osdwinId].startX + osdParam[osdwinId].width is less than 1920

We have not been able to re create the issue here. Can you check if your OSD window parameters are within the display windows limits?

yes ,i have to ensure osdParam[osdwinId].startX + osdParam[osdwinId].width is less than 1920 .

another question is the osd window width is max 720 when i test to change the following:

dspAlgPrm[0].osdChCreateParams[chId].maxWidth = EXAMPLE_OSD_WIN_MAX_WIDTH;

if i changed the EXAMPLE_OSD_WIN_MAX_WIDTH to bigger than 720,it will have error,so how can i do ?

Hi,

The maxWidth for OSD Window is set to 720 inside the SWOSD library(sw_osd.h).

Please modify SWOSD_MAX_WIDTH before setting maxWidth for OSD channel in your use case.

Also, the OSD shadow appears even after setting correct window parameters(within bounds of display)? Does it happen even if OSD link is before SwMs or only if OSD link is after SwMs?

now i have another question ,when osdParam[osdwinId].startX + osdParam[osdwinId].width is more than 1920,

a part of the osd window will display from the start of the screen,if i don't want to display like that ,i just want the over the 1920 osd window not display ,so how can i do ?

Hi,

The videoWindowAddr is calculated from the input frame and hence videoWindowAddr + startX + width can exceed the video width and thus cross over to next line of the video frame. This means the rest of OSD(greater than 1920) will be displayed at that start of the screen.

The application has to control the width and startX address of the OSD. Else it can terminate the rest of the OSD portion by filling transparent color there.

Btw, was the original OSD scrolling issue resolved by correctly aligning width and startx to less than 1920?
