Hi, we use RDK4.0, DM8168.

We use TVP5158 for audio.

1. How to increase the audio volume of 5158?

If ACAP_VOLUME_MAX is 7, the volume is small. I set ACAP_VOLUME_MAX to 10, there has no change.

2. If I set pContext->chPrm[i].encodeParam.numberOfChannels = 2, there has error.

It can not support the stereo mode?

1. Max audio gain supported by TVP5158 is already set in code. Increasing beyond that wont have any effect. You would have to do volume increase at playback end.

2. TVP5158 supports only mono audio input.

Refer tvp5158 datasheet for these restrictions.

What use case are you trying? The standard demos configure all 4 TVPs (16 ch) and there is a cross mapping of audio channel number (physical - data). We have not seen any noise issue. Individual channels should give proper audio.

If you are on lesser TVP configuration use case, say 1 then the mapping is incorrect. Only in this case, you might be receiving a non-connected channel data which could produce noise. Refer audio_capture.c for the mapping / usage.

If you are on 16ch configuration, you should not see any issue with audio data. Please try to run standard demos on EVM or DVR + VS Daughter Card.

I only use 1 TVP5158 and need to 4 channel audio data.

The mapping is Audio_initTvp5158ChMapping(pPrm->numChannels)?

Audio_initTvp5158ChMapping():

4Ch audio with 1 TVP should work. This is used in 4ch use case of other platforms like DM8148 / DM8107 in dvr rdk.

Few things to check -

1. Verify 16ch audio with 16ch use case.

2. Dump all channels audio and see if legible audio is present in one channel at least.

3. Check McASP clocking.

we use 1 TVP5158.

There have four channels for audio capture.

I want to enable only the first channel, just channel 0.

How can I disable the other channels?

Captured data will have all 4 channels. Other 3 channels data should be ignored in software. There is no way to capture only 1 channel data.

Audio capture code receives all channels and demultiplexes each channel data. Its already taken care of.

Application can just get required channel's data.
